National architectural and archaeological reserve "Pautalia, Velbuzhd, Kyustendil", Dervish bath - medieval ottoman public bath, Bulgaria
It is located in the Central part of Kyustendil. It was built in 1566, as evidenced by a digital red brick inscription on the front wall of the bathroom. On the same front wall, two more brick inscriptions are embedded, indicating the years 1604. and 1835., which probably indicate the subsequent renovation of the building. The bathroom is constructed of broken stone blocks and red bricks. Materials from the walls of the medieval fortress were used in the construction. The largest room is a bathing hall with an octagonal pool in the middle, covered by a raised dome with round holes for lighting. The changing room is simpler and rectangular in shape, but has not been fragment with an inscription in Greek language, built into the facade of the ottoman Dervish bath.
