Winding gear at the Long Engine House at the remains of the Magpie Mine, near Sheldon, Derbyshire. The ruins are a Scheduled Monument and are protected by law. The mine is always open to visitors, free of charge. It is cared for and maintained by the Peak District Mines Historical Society.
