A hand-and-a-half sword, Milan, circa 1520 A slender, double-edged blade, with a flattened mid-ridge on both sides of the blade which does not extend to the point. Scorpion marks above two circles. Blackened quillons with a ridged parrying ring and a finger loop on the reverse side. Original leather grip cover over cord wrapping (minor damage). Mushroom shaped, facetted pommel with a spirally ridged pommel cap. Length 135 cm. Rare, early sword with unaltered hilt, the blade has been cleaned and sanded.
