Thanksgiving usually sees the open- ing of the winter's trade. Everything has sold well this week. Roses and carnations have advanced in price. The latter are scarce, though nobody knows why. Even the big growers say their shipments have dwindled down to hundreds instead of thou- thousands. In chrysanthemums, yel- low bonnaffons have had a good call. Good reds had a good demand at the end of the week for the Harvard-Yale football game. 'Violets are plentiful.
