Barbados black belly sheep (Ovis aries) in a research farm enclosure in the University of West Indies, Trinidad and Tobago. This breed is well suited to a tropical climate. It is a hair sheep (growing hair as opposed to wool) so better able to withstand heat, has a high parasite tolerance and can survive on relatively nutrient-poor tropical grasses.
