Albertosaurus museum display. This display of this dinosaur's skeleton has been constructed from casts of fossilised bones. Albertosaurus was a large carnivorous dinosaur that reached a length of around nine metres. It inhabited what is now Canada in the late Cretaceous period, around 75 to 70 million years ago. Albertosaurus was similar to, but smaller than, its famous theropod relative Tyrannosaurus. Photographed at the National Museum of Natural History, Washington DC, USA.
