Scottish built Victorian suspension bridge over Chobar Gorge Kathmandu valley


This suspension bridge spans the Bagmati river at Chobar gorge just to the south of Kathmandu Nepal It is a piece of Victorian engineering now a hundred years old Although intended as a footbridge it is now also used equally by the many motorcycles that fill the valley This was taken in January 2005 in the still of morning and at this time of year it is common to find winter mists at dawn which slowly burn off as the sun rises There is a good view from this point down to the important ganesh temple of Jal Binayak
