He was of Irish birth or origin. Capt. John C. Keenan was born in Ireland and en-listed from Concord. He was commissioned SecondLieutenant of Company F September, 1862, and pro-moted to Captain July, 1864. He was captured atFair Oaks Oct. 25, 1864, exchanged and mustered outJune 21, 1865, with the regiment. Capt. Keenan re-sides in Concord. Capt. John L. OBrien was commissioned Captain ofCompany F in September, 1862. He was woundedslightly June 3, 1864, and discharged Feb. 9, enlisted from FIRST NEW HAMPSHIRE. 253 Lieut. John P. OBrien enlisted as a private when theregiment was organized and was promoted through theseveral grades to that of First Lieutenant, being mus-tered out with the regiment June 21, 1865. His recordwas an honorable one. Capt. Patrick Doyle was a native of Ireland. Hewas commissioned First Lieutenant in Company KSept. 18, 1862, and promoted Captain June 9, was severely wounded Oct. 27, 1864, at Fair Oaks,and mustered out with the regiment June 21, 1865. Heenlisted from Manchester and returned there at theclose of the war. Capt. James Madden was commissioned CaptainSept. 18, 1862, and was killed in action June 16, was a native of Ireland and a resident of Manches-ter when the war broke out. In sket
