The Kalta-Minar minaret in Khiva, Uzbekistan
The Kalta-Minar minaret in Khiva was intended to be the grandest in the East at a height of 70-80m high but, with the death of the Khan in 1855, construction stopped after 29m. It is the only minaret in Khiva covered with glazed tiles.
