CAR ASCENDING UNCANOONUC BY INCLINE RAILWAY —Uncanoonuc Mountain— The trip which no one should miss, however, is to UncanoonucMountain (by Goffstown car). This mountain, or rather pairof mountains, named from an Indian word suggested by theiroutline, is the highest land in the vicinity. Rising as it doesfrom the midst of a broad and fertile plain, it affords a magni-ficent view of the landscape. The city, seven miles away, seemsalmost at our feet and the rugged hills and distant mountainsform a fitting background for the broad fields, forests andmeadows dotted with lakes and hamlets, and threaded by silverstreams. On the summit stands the large Casino {rooms $1 up), withdance hall, broad verandas, and high outlook. A cable railwaytoils up the precipitous slope.
