Asthe result of careful investigation a centre was chosen inthe midst of a working-class population, and operationswere commenced by a series of open-air meetings, a canvastent being procured on September 1st, 1901. Crowdedmeetings gave effectual testimony to the appreciation withwhich the people received the simple preaching of Gospeltruth, and many were reclaimed from the evils of intemper-ance, who are still in active association with the the advance of autumn came increasing strain upon.
