The flowers are nearly three inches in diameter and are borne on slender branching stems frequently over three feet high and are gay and attrac- tive in the garden in late summer and fall and invaluable for cutting. The bulbs or started plants should be set out during April or May ana may be wintered out of doors with careful protection but it is better to lift the bulbs in the fall, pack them away in dry sand and store in a low temperature just above freezing. His Majesty. The largest of the collection, very substantial, widely-expanded flowers with rich yellow centre shading to brilliant scarlet, with the segments heavily covered towards their tips with a good rich crimson. Queen Alexandra. A splendid large reflexed light golden orange with distinct crimson bars, a strong, vigorous grower. Una. A charming, very floriferous growing variety about two and a half feet high with flowers of medium size, of a light orange with crimson reverse, the inner surface of the flower marked with crimson.
