A Tartar helmet, Northern Caucasus, 16th/17th century. A two-piece pointed skull with a riveted quadrangular spike. Riveted forehead strip with a movable nasal and mail curtain. The helmet exterior shows remnants of the gold inlay that once covered the entire surface. Height: 29 cm. With mail curtain ca. 513 cm.
