The sac was removed through theinguinal incision, the scrotal tissues not being touched. Norwas drainage of any kind used, the wound being closed com-pletely and primary union obtained. If, however, there is con-siderable oozing following the stripping out of such an 270 ABDOMINAL HERNL\. enormous sac, it is then advisable to put a good-sized drainagetube, preferably rubber with numerous fenestra cut out, downthrough the bottom of the scrotum.
