Motwown Music control room. Between 1961 and 1971, Motown released 110 hits in the US Top 10, a new hit almost every month on average. Among the artists who recorded for Motown were Diana Ross & The Supremes, The Temptations, The Jackson 5, Marvin Gaye and Stevie Wonder. Many famous songs were recorded in this studio between 1959 and 1972. The studio, founded by Berry Gordy, was in operation 24 hours a day.
