Aberystwyth, Wales, UK. 6th Jan, 2013. The seaside town of Aberystwyth on Cardigan Bay, still reeling from substantial damage caused by huge waves over several days, was battered again at high tide on 6 January. Gusts of 70 mph and a huge swell caused waves to break over sea defences, residents of seafront buildings to be evacuated, and the whole promenade to be cordoned-off by police and council workers.
