A guisarme, Italy, 1st half of the 16th century. Heavy blade with a curved, sickle shaped, grappling hook and a thrusting spike with a reinforced quadrangular point. The spike on the back was removed long ago. Sword marks are stamped into both sides. Edged, rectangular socket with two long side straps. Original ash pole with large decorative, iron rosettes nailed between the languets. The pole is marked on one side with a shield bearing a coat of arms and the monogram "KIL".
