A 1960's postcard of a Paris Metro station showing what appears to be one of the RATP's 'pneumatic' rubber tyred trains introduced into fleet service on Line 1 in 1963 - MP 59 stock. The pneumatic tyred trains still with traditional steel wheels were brought in for lines of steep gradients and sharp curves so as to ease noise, rail wear and provide better acceleration.
