This machineis the invention of Mr. Joseph McKay. The principleon which it operates is as follows: The goods are fedinto the machine between two endless aprons. Thelower apron consists of a heavy canvas belt, the upperapron of a thinner material. The goods are carriedbetween these aprons below the starch line and Avhilethey are being passed through the starch they receivea rolling and rubbing motion from the top which forcesthe starch through the goods in a manner similar tothe action of the hand. They then pass out of thestarch and between the rollers, which remove nearly allthe surplus starch. It is claimed for this machinethat this action removes the wrinkles in the goods.
