Rotative Newcomen beam engine, Farme Colliery, Rutherglen, Glasgow Scotland. The engine was made in 1810 and worked until 1915. The photograph was probably taken shortly before the engine was dismantled and put into storage. The engine has since been restored and is now in the Museum of Scottish Industrial Life at Summerlee.
