A resolution which seems to question the ability of the Cubans to govern themselves \vas introduced into the U. S. House of Representatives on Jan. 6, by Representative Las- siter of Virginia. The resolution calls upon the Secretary of War to furnish the House such information as he may possess that justifies the United States Government in assum- ing that the recently elected Cuban officials are capable of maintaining a stable Government. 6 â Mr. Lassiter affirms that a state of anarchy will soon exist in the island if the United States withdraws all of its troops.
