Roosevelt's 1940 Presidential campaign. Here's a fleet of loudspeaker trucks that drove through towns and neighborhoods blaring campaign info in favor of President Roosevelt's opponent, businessman Wendell Willkie, the Republican Party's candidate, who had never run for a political office before. Willkie's VP running mate was Charles McNary. The trucks all had 4-way speakers. The first 3 are new GMC Chevrolet panel trucks with Illinois license plates.
