The protest was backed by the 'National Campaign Against Fees And Cuts'. It was not endorsed by the 'National Union of Students', who said it would pose an unacceptable risk to participants. The students are protesting against tuition fees which are typically £ per year and are financed by loans taking up to 30 years to repay.
