STORCH'S - OUTSTANDING FARMERS COMMUNITY HALL WITH A DIFFERENCE On October 24, 1987, Norman & Leona Storch, farmers in the Hanna district received the Motherwell Award in recognition of their outstanding contribution to agriculture through the Outstanding Young Farmers Program. The National Outstanding Young Farmers Program is sponsored nationally by the Bank of Montreal, John Deere Ltd., and Hoechst Canada Inc. The program is jointly supported by the Calgary Exhibition and Stampede and the Canada Jaycees. The Storch family was selected from among 8 national nominees. They were recognized for their diversified operation which includes a broiler hatching egg business, a 1600 acre grain operation and a 60 head beef herd. The Storch's are active in industry and community organizations. Leona Storch has served as the Treasurer of the Hanna and District Agricultural Society for several years. Welcome to the agricultural society, ANSELMO officially opened their new hall November 14. The old moose is hung in the new hall. A highlight of the evening was a history of the old hall.
