The ceremony was held in order to formalize the reassignment of both the 1st Battalion, 30th Infantry Regiment “Battle Boars,” and the 1st Battalion, 64th Armor Regiment “Desert Rogues,” to the 4th Infantry Brigade Combat and the 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team respectively. The ceremony marks one of the final steps taken to inactivate the 2nd ABCT, slated to take place in January.
