Oxford, England - 20 July2020; The view along Oxford High Street, on a fine summer day. The view is dominated by the magnificent spire of St Mary's Church. The University Church of St Mary the Virgin is a prominent Oxford church situated on the north side of the High Street, facing Radcliffe Square. It is the centre from which the University of Oxford grew and its parish consists almost exclusively of university and college buildings. A church was first erected on this site, at the centre of the old walled city, in Anglo-Saxon times. Also to be seen are parts of University College on the left and All Souls in front of the spire.
