Oak Brook, Illinois 9-05-1986 Charles, Prince of Wales attends the Oak Brook Polo Ball at Marshall Fields Department State Street store in Chicago. It was a glittering, slinky, flounced and tuxedoed evening as the elite of Chicago society mixed with His Royal Highness. The eighth floor of Marshall Field & Co.`s State Street store had been turned into a polo field with AstroTurf and white folding lawn chairs for a reception for guests. The prince attended a private reception. Guests then moved to the seventh-floor Walnut Room. The prince, wearing a double-breasted tuxedo, entered at 8:30 As guests stood, he approached his table beneath a dozen crimson banners, pulled out a chair for Jorie Butler Kent, daughter of Oak Brook founder Paul Butler, then sat. Soon guests were buzzing with displeasure at the appearance of Jeanouche Wopinski, the guest of Oak Brook Polo Club chairman Michael Butler, at the prince`s table, for Wopinski was not assigned such a coveted place.
