Andrew Kay, President of Live Performance Australia announced Stephen Page, Artistic Director of Bangarra Dance Theatre as the recipient of the 2016 JC Williamson Award on the stage of the Drama Theatre, Sydney Opera House. The JC Williamson Award® is presented in recognition of a longstanding contribution to the live performance industry and is bestowed on an individual who has made a truly outstanding contribution to the enrichment of the Australia’s live performance culture and shaped the future of the industry for the better. The actual award will be presented at the 2016 Helpmann Awards to be held on Monday 25 July at the Sydney Lyric Theatre.
