Spitz nevus, light micrograph section of affected skin from a four year old. The Spitz nevus (epithelioid and spindle-cell nevus) is a benign acquired melanocytic tumour found predominantly in children and adolescents. Spitz nevi characteristically have vertically arranged nests of nevus cells (pink) that have both a spindled and an epithelioid morphology. Magnification: x 100 when printed at 10 centimetres wide. Human tissue.
