The Chinese Primroses are fine for winter and spring blooming-; they are free-flowering, and espec- ially valuable for cut-flowers or for house and win- dow culture; a cool place suits them best. The seed should be sown in light soil, but for the final potting a richer soil is necessary, consisting of two parts loam to one each of well-decayed manure and leaf- mold. They require to be well - ventilated, well- watered and slightly shaded throughout the summer. This charming and beautiful flowering plant is in- dispensable for winter or spring decorations in the home or conservatory. It is one of our most import- ant of winter blooming pot plants.
