Bulgarian celebration for health and wellness annual swim for cross of Christ
Bulgaria Elhovo January 6th 2014: Hundreds watched fourteen brave men who took part in the annual ritual of throwing a cross into the waters of the river Tunja, a tradition held across Bulgaria on Jordan day, followed by a group of men and youths dressed in traditional dress costumes after a cannon shot was fired entered the waters of Tunja and dance to a traditional tune played by drums and bagpipes, a female dance troop dressed in costumes danced on the shore of the river Tunja by the burning log fire.
