Satellite launch preparations. Engineers preparing the ST-1 communications satellite for launch. The satellite has been placed in the nosecone of an Ariane 44 PL rocket. This satellite was manufactured by Matra Marconi Space (later EADS Astrium), and operated by telecom companies from Singapore and Taiwan. It was launched in 1998.
