A hawthorn tree, Crataegus monogyna, growing at Jenny Brown’s Point near the village of Silverdale on the edge of Morecambe Bay. Unsuccessful attempts have been made to chop the tree down presumably to use as fuel for the campfire on the left of the picture. Another partially burned tree lies next to the remains of the fire.
