They are a very nice, smooth, white pota- to, slightly russeted and with eyes almost even with the surface. They run unusually even in size, there being few small ones and no over grown large potatoes. It is The Potato for main crop. CARMAN No. 3—One of the productions of Elbert S. Carman, editor of the Rural New Yorker, and the result of careful hybrid- izing and selection. No potato ever introduced has given such an enormously largo yield of fine, smooth, merchantable tubers. For general culture it has no equal. The tubers are rounded oblong, somewhat flattened, giving a form not likely to be hollow. The eyes, while large, full and strong, are flush wich the surface, mak- ing it, as has been claimed, the smoothest large potato grown. The color is pure white. The growth of vine is very -strong and vigor- ous and is as nearly blight proof as any potato can possibly be.
