English Electric Lightning interceptor in Duxford Air Museum.

This aircraft is famous for the Wing Commander Walter "Taff" Holden incident. Wing Commander Holden was taxi-ing the plane looking for an electrical fault. Unfortunately he pushed the throttle too far and engaged reheat (afterburner). The plane accelerated rapidly (ie like a rocket) and he had no choice but to take off. Fortunately he had some limited flying experience in light planes and was able to work out what he had done and take control of the plane to land it safely.
