A new seedling, Teplitz X Kaiserin, has good promise and is very much like Chatenay in color, but of more open habit in growth. He has several seed- lings about ready to bloom that were started last season. Van Slyke & Seamons are planting carnations extensively and successfully. They have several new ones that prom- ise well. There is some blight among the asters at their place. F. C. Smith has everything in good condition and is busy getting stock ready for future business.
