A Canal crochet wheel adorns a footbridge near Eanam Wharf on the Leeds and Liverpool for the Blackburn Canal festival 2016. 200 wheels had been created by Artyarn in the build up to the festival. The circular motif is symbolic of the waterwheel and steam engine both of which had a great influence in the industrial revolution that came at the heyday of the canals. This was the 4th Blackburn canal festival and this year is helping to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the completion of the canal back in 1816.
