The upper parts of its plumageare pale brownilh afh-colour, but each feather ismarked down the Ihaft with a gloify bronze brown;the under parts, and rump, are of a pure white : a BRITISH BIRDS. 87 whitifh flreak paffes over each eye: the quill fea-thers are dulky, plain on the outer webs, but theinner ones are fpeckled with white fpots: the tail iswhite, croffed with dark waved bars: the legs arelong, bare about two inches above the knees, andof a daik green colour:
