In summer, however, they speedily eatthemselves back into condition, and in autumn they are so fatthat they would certainly take prizes at an exhibition of fatcattle. In the museum at Tromsoe there is preserved thebackbone of a reindeer, shot on King Karls Land, which had alayer of fat seven to eight centimetres in thickness on the loin.
