The work being printed piecemeal in this wa} explains why there occurvarious blank pages through the book. They will, however, be found use-ful for annotations. As the lectures were delivered in conjunction with daily quizzes in the~^ symptomatolog) of the diseases considered, the standard texts upon Prac-tice of Medicine being used, it was manifestly desirable to omit from thiswork all the matter so easih accessible in those writings.
