Ancient Egyptian statue of Aanen, second priest to Amon, granodioite, New Kingdom, 18th Dynasty, (1390-1353, Thebes. Egyptian Museum, Turin. A dignitary wearing a wig, a long gown and the leopard skin of a priest. Writing on his belt are the names of Amenhotep III, Aanen and an inscription tells us that the statue depicts the astronomer priest Aanen by saying " one knows the procession of the sky". Aanen was the brother of the queen Teye wife of Amenhotep III. Drovetti collection, cat 1377
