Halley's comet used in advertising, 1910 illustration


Halley's comet used to advertise beds, illustration. This comet, officially designated 1P/Halley, is a short period comet visible from Earth every 74 to 79 years. The 1910 approach was the first for which photographs exist and the first for which spectroscopic data were obtained. The comet made a relatively close approach, with the Earth actually passing through the tail on 18th May 1910. The next appearance is calculated to be mid-2061.
