View SE over a Bronze Age hut circle at North End, Lundy Island, Devon, UK, whose entrance points to Gannets' Bay. To rear R is the Admiralty Lookout on Tibbetts Hill, East Sideland S of Threequarter Wall, built 1909 for the observation of shipping passing through Lundy Roads. A small, well preserved hut with rubble walls & stone door jambs; part of a Late Bronze Age (c1500 BC) seasonal settlement used for summer grazing, fishing, catching sea birds & egg collecting. The fields, bounded by stone-and-earth banks, were probably used for pasture & stock control rather than cultivation.
