The Richmond Pottery, Inc., has just received a consignment of modern machinery which will enable it to man- ufacture larger pots than it has hitherto been able to turn out. H. Plath is chairman of the organization, pro tem. Permanent oflScers will be elected early in the year. Mr. Plath and Frank D. Pelicano are two of the prime movers in the new pottery enterprise. M. M. PROVIDENCE, E. I. The Market. There has been no rush for Christmas business, but the final days before the holiday will probably develop some ac- tivity. There is an unusually good sup- ply of everything for the holidays, ex- cepting orchids and poinsettias. These are scarce and high. Potted plants are in evidence in good quality and quan- tity and at reasonable figures. Last week carnations stiffened a few cents, but, otherwise, prices are about normal. Eoses range from $6 to $25 per hundred; carnations, $8 to $12 per hundred; Paper Whites, $4 per hundred; calendulas, $2 to $4 per hundred; snapdragons, $8 to $12 per hundred; callas, $2 to $3 per dozen; lilies, $3 per dozen. There has been a slight flurry in social circles the last week, but the demand was so split up that its influence on the general situation was but little felt. Fair weather has been favorable to public health and the funeral list has, consequently, been much below the usual call for this time of the year. Various Notes. William A.
