PORT CANAVERAL, Fla. (Sept. 29, 2018) Adm. J. Franklin Caldwell, Jr., Director, Naval Reactors, grants permission to Capt. Jesse Zimbauer, commanding officer of USS Indiana (SSN 789), placing the submarine in commission. Indiana is the Navy’s 16th Virginia-class fast-attack submarine and the third ship named for the State of Indiana.
