The French Rococo artist Charles Francois Hutin (1715-1776) got his education at the Académie Royale at Francois Lemoine. After his studies he left, together with his father, to Rome, where he, on the advice of Jean-Francois de Troy, the new director of the French academy, started sculpting. In 1742 he returned to Paris. In 1744 he was adopted as a sculptor at the Académie Royale.
