On account of its thick- ness it frequently reaches 2 lbs. in weight and con- sequently is much used by farmers for stock feeding purposes. It is a deep orange in color. This is the long carrot that grows rather rapidly, gradually tapering in shape, but is free from small rootlets. It is a good keeper and excellent for winter use. Very handsome, straight, smooth roots of bright orange color, frequently 12 inches long and 3 inches in diameter at the neck. No better carrot for all round table use or field culture.
