Modern cross marking the site of St Dwynwen's hermitage on Llanddwyn Island, Anglesey

The modern Latin style cross erected on the supposed site of the 5th century, Early Christian, Welsh Saint Dwynwen's hermitage on the small, rocky, tidal island off Newborough Beach, Anglesey. Her well & shrine were once places of pilgrimage for Welsh lovers especially on her feast day 25 January. She is referred to as the Welsh St Valentine.
