A Pictish symbol stone on Isle of Raasay, off Skye, Scotland, with pagan & Christian symbols including a flabellum (ritual fan) with equal-arm cross.

A Pictish symbol stone on Isle of Raasay, off Skye, Scotland, with Christian & pagan symbols: a flabellum (ritual fan), broken sword or tuning fork, crescent & V-rod. The flabellum comprises an equal-armed cross (cross pattée) within a rectilinear frame attached to a handle. A Class II Pictish symbol stone of the C8th or later. The stone originally came from near the pier on the shore of Churchton Bay. There is a similar carving on an outcrop by the shore and they may both be connected with an Early Christian site founded by St Moluag - a site nearby is called St Molnag's Chapel.
