2000 Sawley - Flooding caused by prolonged rainfall in October and November 2000. Over the Harrington Bridge in Sawley, both Marshalls brick yard and the Plank and Leggit public house lost business as the road was closed due to severe flooding. Tamworth road ,the B6540 was flooded in both directions over the River Trent. Stranded vehicles can be seen stuck after trying to get throught the flood water.
